Attending a College Fair

A college fair is a free event where many different schools each have an informational booth and is an opportunity for you to learn more about that school and other schools you may be considering. It’s a good idea to bring a list of colleges you may be interested in learning more about, but keep an open mind and explore some colleges that aren’t on your list.

If you are a sophomore in high school and you’re attending a college fair, you are putting yourself on a college-going track! Take this opportunity to enjoy visiting with the different colleges and universities, and get excited by the opportunity of going to college. By learning more about colleges and universities, you can learn what you need to do to put yourself on the college-going path.

Here are some questions you might ask:

  • I’m currently a sophomore in high school and this is new to the college process. Do you have any advice for me as I pick courses for my junior year?
  • I’m interested in studying XX. What can I do now to prepare and learn more about that area?
  • What do colleges look for in an applicant
